Folks, this too is about Politics from a Christian Perspective by Mike Huckabe!

  Got this from Mike Huckabe's book, called "Do the Right thing". I felt they  would be right for "such a time as this".

During his single term as Governor, Mit Romney raised taxes 5 percent in  Massachusettes,  the State already known as "Taxachusetts".  His cuts in local Government forced them to increase property taxes to the highest levels in a generation.  He hid them by calling them "fees" and boasted that he never raised taxes, and the amzaing thing was that most of the National Press fell for it, especially those who wrote for many of the conservative news outlets.  The Romney spin machine was effective (albeit expensive) in convincing many people that he had a conservative record.

   By contrast, I cut taxes 94 times, including the first broadbased cuts in the history of Arkansas.  Some taxes I eliminated entirely;  the marriage penalty, bracket creep caused by inflation, income tax on poor families, and capitol gains on home sales.  I increased standerd deductions for everybody and doubled the child care tex credit.  All these things didn't just put money inpeoples' pockets;they promated marrage and streanthened working families.  To encourage investment, I cut capitol Gains for both individuals and businesses. To help people better themselves, I provided tax credits for employee training and education.  I left office in January with a surplus of almost $850 million, having set the stage for even more cuts, which the Arkansas legislature recently passed.

   Its also pretty clear where democrats stand on guns;  they really just don't like them.  But at least they're good about letting voters know where they stand.  Over time, they want to take away your guns.  But as with taxes, it was sometimes hard to tell on which side of the aisle my fellow Republicans actually stood.  No one in the race had a stronger record on 2nd amendment rights then I did--no one.  Our Founding fathers, having endured the tyranny of the British Empire, wanted to guarantee our GOD given libertys.  They devised our three branches of Government and our system of checks and balances.  But they were still concerned that the system could fail and that we could face new tyranny from our own government.  They wanted us to be able to defend ourselves, and thats why they gave us the second amendment.  They knew that a government faceing an armed populace was

less likely to take away peoples rights, while an unarmed population would be defenseless against such an encroachment.  As Ronald Reagan said, "Freedom is never more then one generation away from extincation"
